It’s 2010 and Time To Take It To The Next Level

Hang up those tennies (sneakers for you eastcoast cats) and grab a pair of 4 inch stilettos because grown and sexy is definitely what’s hot. No, I don’t mean a tu-tu (argh I dispise the ballerina tu-tu) or Pastry heels (argh another no-no). I’m talking about pants (not jeans), dresses, cardigans, ruffle blouses and pumps, the new 21st Century sexy, sophisticated woman. Ok, ok, ok, every now and then it’s alright to throw on a pair of boyfriend jeans, moccasins and a white v-neck to hit your neighborhood market. But let’s keep it real, men are looking for women that mentally can challenge them and physically serve as their arm piece (and I can’t say that’s happening in you BF jeans).

Not sure of what I mean? Need some help??? Well here are some helpful pointers to becoming the sexy, sophisticated woman you were born to be (ok so seriously, that was meant to NOT be cliché even though it came out that way..lol)

Part 1 – THE OUTFIT!!!

HIGH WAIST SHORTS

Yes, I'm talking about the high-waist cuffed shorts (not the booty tight ones). Pair these shorts with a ruffle blouse or button-down shirt and chunky strapped heels and call it a day. Don't be afraid to show legs!!

BLAZERS

Floral blazers, basic blazers, fitted blazers, slightly oversized blazers, any kind of blazer, JUST DO IT. Be sure to pair bold print blazers with basic colors and vice versa.

SHOW SKIN THAT NORMALLY DOESN'T SHOW IN THE WINTER (BACK, COLLAR BONE, ETC.)

Try a low back, or a deep scoop neckline or even a one-arm strapped dress. All in all, don't be afraid to show skin (although you mustn't get carried away). Sexy, sophisticated is all about being classy, not trashy.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO "LOOK" COMFORTABLE

The "comfortable" dress does not have to be thrown away ladies!!! As long as it's paired with calf-pumping 3-4 inch heels, GO FOR IT! You give the appearance of being cute and comfortable even though your feet are crying MEEERCYYY!! Oh and don't forget to accessorize (bangles, earings or a necklace...something that stands out against your plain outfit). Cheat Notes: Your feet can't stand to wear high, high heels? Well try looking for heels that have a slight platform under the toes area. It gives the illusion your wearing 4 inch high heels and in actuality your walking on 2 inches (but the height it still there)!
